The
beginning-level exercises appearing on this web site are designed
to start you out on the road to facial fitness with a simple,
stripped-down version of The Eigard Method. Think of these
ten moves as the method with training wheels. By mastering
them, you will be gaining the basic muscle control necessary
to reap the full benefits of the advanced program. Only two
appear right now - but check back often as more are being added.
All of these
exercises begin with the "soft face," a relaxed, peaceful facial
posture in which all tension is drained from the face. As you
begin your workout, be careful to tighten only the muscles involved
in the exercise you're working on. Remember that if you crease
your forehead in concentration while executing a Lip Up, you're
defeating the whole purpose of the program.
As with any
exercise program, no pain means no gain. Always sustain the
exercise until the muscles involved begin to burn. If you're
wondering what this feels like, think about the last time you
laughed until your face hurt. If you push yourself all the way,
you'll wake up tomorrow to the first sign of true progress -
a sore face.
The
beginning-level exercises appearing on this web site and
much more also appear
in the book, "The Eigard Method" which can be purchased online.
